● NSF International

NSF International (National Sanitation Foundation International) is an independent third party certification organization that is both non-profit and non-governmental. This organization took over and is currently involved with creating and managing standards/regulations for chemicals products used in food related factories, which was originally overseen by the United States Department of Agriculture.

● NSF certification

Category Code 3H…Mold release oil (able to come into direct contact with food products)

Category Code H1…Lubricant that is certified to be used in areas where it may come into occasional contact with food products

Category Code H2…Lubricant that is used in areas where it will not come into contact with food products

Category Code H3…Soluble oil (oil that is used for rust prevention and follows the standards in the FDA21CFR section)

● Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)

HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, which were created in the USA. These points identify hazards at various stages in the food production processes and designs measures to prevent, eliminate or reduce these risks to a safe level and ultimately focuses on managing those measures and processes. The HACCP is currently being integrated in countries all over the world and the USA and EU, in particular, recommend adopting the HACCP system that is legally compulsory for food product and service companies. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and local authorities in Japan are recently promoting its integration and suggest using it for exporting food products to all relevant countries.

*One lubricant identified as a hazardous related substance (chemical) by HACCP. In order to minimize the risk of contamination, using a safer lubricant is required.
